A Medical Discharge may be given to service members who become sick or injured to the point where military duty is no longer possible based on a medical evaluation of the medical condition. This process can be lengthy and may or may not be appealed depending on a variety of factors.

Does a medical discharge look bad?

The Discharge Review Board can look at discharges upgrade requests that were within 15 years of your discharge from service. However, it can only look at upgrades for general, OTH, and special court-martial discharges. It cannot look at dishonorable or general court-martial discharges.

How do you list an honorable discharge on a resume?

Write down a list of your various skills and responsibilities, particularly responsibilities in any leadership positions you may have held. Insert a Military Experience section in your resume. List your branch of service, date of enlistment, date of discharge and type of discharge.
