Is Padauk a good tone wood?
Here is one I did a couple years ago. I love working with Padauk and the tone is very much what you would expect from any high quality Rosewood. Complex, rich lows with glassy highs, lots of overtones and power as well. It’s an all around great tone wood and will work will with Cedar.

What does padauk wood look like?
It is a wood with pale orange to deep brown-red colouring. Similar to both African and Burma padauk, Andaman padauk darkens in colour after being cut to a purple-red-brown. Durable and resistant to decay, this wood also has good resistance to insects and termites.
