Why are my hair straighteners crackling?
This is the sound of a faulty electrical connection inside or even a component burning out. STOP USING THEM STRAIGHT AWAY. Again this is the sound of electricity trying to make a connection and we would always recommend to stop using the product as soon as possible.
Are ghd plates supposed to touch?
The small gap between your ghd plates allow your hair to feel the affects of heat styling, but also allows the plates to glide through hair easily without damaging the follicle. You will be able to create shiny, pin straight hair easily without your ghd plates touching!
Can GHD eclipse be repaired?
The GHD Eclipse is not repairable. A replacement mains cable is available from our online shop if yours is damaged (here). But make sure the cable is cut or damaged and the damage is stopping power getting to the irons!
Why are my GHDs crackling?
The noise you can hear is electricity arcing inside your GHDs. This is bad! You should stop using them and get them repaired, as they could fail completely and sometimes this can involve a loud bang and/or a small fire.
Why is Cloud 9 beeping?
If your Cloud Nine is constantly beeping it can be quite alarming. Cloud Nines carry out a very fast system check when you turn them on, if something isn’t right with a heater for example, the Cloud Nine beeping will alert you of this but without letting them power up as normal and potentially cause a safety issue.

Why are my GHDS beeping and flashing?
1) The irons are too cold Not a problem with the irons exactly, but if the irons are too cold when they are switched on you will get a continuous beep and flashing light and the irons will not heat up. GHD call this a feature and say it is to protect against damage occuring.
