What are Telpas designated supports?
For TELPAS, the allowable designated supports are meant to address needs related to the student’s disability. Designated supports that address second language acquisition needs are not permitted during TELPAS because student progress in second language acquisition is what is being assessed.

Type 1 Accommodations: This type of accommodation is available for students who have a specific need and who routinely, independently, and effectively use the accommodation during classroom instruction and testing. It is not necessary to submit an Accommodation Request Form to TEA.
